From humble beginnings in 1993 servicing the Sydney fine arts market and film industry, Man and His Van is now a well established furniture removals and storage company
The Man and His Van removalist van was first seen on the Sydney streets in January 1993. With an opening for a competitively priced and reliable removalist in the fine arts sector, Man and His Van took advantage of this opportunity. Working seven days a week, we had relationships with the individual antique markets and antique dealers. We were also the main carriers for some of the leading Sydney auction houses specialising in antiques and fine arts.
At the same time, the Sydney film industry was booming and we were kept busy picking up and delivering props for film and photographic shoots. Many of the antique dealers and furniture shops would insist the props could only be moved by Man and His Van – “If you don’t use Man and His Van you don’t get my stuff for your film”.
Earning our stripes before moving into home removals.
Household removals were the natural progression for us. The intricate and careful packing and moving skills that were required for the antique industry and designer furniture shops were put to good use as we progressed to furniture removals and office relocations.
Along with furniture removals came the demand for storage. We purchased our first storage facility at unit 6, 91-93 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale and it remains the Man and His Van head office to this day.
The busier we became the more the demand for storage. We made the easy decision to purchase more buildings to cope with the storage demand. Man and His Van now own and operate four storage facilities in the Sydney area.
Unlike our storage competitors, our storage is designed for furniture. We pride ourselves with the great care taken when moving our client’s belongings into our stores.
